Many athletes feel they are ready to play in college but are not fully aware of the commitment they are making. 

Are You Ready For The Commitment?

At any level or any start there is a huge time commitment to the sport you play in college. No longer are you the best player on your team you are going up against guys that are much more college ready than you and it takes a lot of time and commitment to get your body there. No longer will you have free time to yourself the majority of your time will be spent with your team either practicing, lifting weights, and watching film.

How To Gauge Your Talent 

There are two ways to do this. The first is to check national ranking sites like ESPN and 247 Sports or Rivals. The other way is to watch teams at different divisions play and see which level your talent is closes to. 

What Coaches Look For In Athletic Ability

Athletic Ability is one of the first things coaches look at when determining if an athlete could be a potential fit at their school or university. These are often specific skills required to play a specific position for sport and can include, strength, power, endurance, speed, agility, stamina, balance, and flexibility.

Differences Between High School and College

The Training is more intense as you are going to be going up against seniors as a freshman who are entering their 4th year of college. 

The Importance of Time Management on average a D1 athlete spends 80 or more hours on their athletics and academics. That's 2x the amount of a normal work week. Meaning you have to manage your time to make sure all of your school work is done and you are attending all team activities. 

Coaches are more involved in your academics because they have to schedule practices around your classes as well as make sure you are academically eligible to play in your teams games.
